Material Theme Installation

Important Notice

Before installing your theme make sure that your CS-Cart version is fully compatible with the Theme version that you have downloaded. In order to check which version of CS-Cart your store is running, just add changelog.txt at the end of your store URL. For example In the changelog screen your CS-Cart store version will be presented as in "Version X.X.X" followed by the release date.

It is also important that you backup your store files and database before installing your theme in case anything goes wrong during the installation proccess. Although theme files do not modify or alter any of the core files of CS-Cart you are strongly advices to take the necessary precautions in order to protect your data and be able to restore them.

Step 1 - Getting to your themes panel

Go to your admin panel and navigate to Design > Themes on the top right menu

Step 2 -  Uploading the new theme

Click onto the upload theme button which is found at the top left side (plus sign button)

Step 3 - Selecting your theme zip file

Locate and upload your theme zip file

Step 4 -  Locate your new theme

Click on the Browse all available themes tab

Step 5 - Installing the theme

If your new theme has been uploaded correctly you should be able to see the theme name and screenshot. Hover on the screenshot and click on the install button.

Step 6 - Activating the theme

After the theme is installed scroll down the list of your themes to activate it.

Step 7 - Managing your addons

Go to Add-ons / Manage add-ons

Step 8 - Enabling "My Changes"

Find the My Changes addon and activate it

Step 9 - Adding extra files

Unzip the archive and using an FTP software (i.e. Core FTP) upload the archive content onto the root directory of your installation so that all necessary additional folders are put into place. When you extract the archive make sure to select "extract here" option in order to get all the individual folders that you need to upload on your root (public_html) directory.

Step 10 - Adding extra language variables

Your theme comes with additional theme editor color presets and other features that need to be added to the language files of your installation. To do this go to Administration / Import Data / Translations. Then on the tab "Language Variables" and on the select file section upload the csv file attached with the rest of the template files.

Useful Tip

Make sure that you clear your cs-cart cache and browser cache in case your theme does not appear right away.
