The knowledgebase is a categorized collection of answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ) and articles. You can read articles in this category or select a subcategory that you are interested in.
Your CS-Cart Template files comes with a zip file that you should unzip to your local machine.
The archive contains the following 3 folders
Images: Contains any extra images that are used for the design such as banners.
Import_blocks: Contains the xml file that loads all the locations that you have to import.
Var: Contains the basic files of the template.
Use your favorite FTP manager and upload these folders to your root directory (inside public_html).
Go to your admin panel area under “Design” and choose the “Skin Selector”.
On the left side of the page you will notice a drop down menu of skins for the customer area. Choose the name of your newly installed skin.
Now that your skin is installed you will have to go import the block locations of your template. Go to “Design” and choose “Blocks”.
On the top right side of the blocks panel there is a button named “Import locations”. Click on the button and on the popup settings box that appears select the xml file of your template, usually referred as “skin_name.xml”. Make sure that both “Clean up locations before import” and “Override locations by dispatch” options are ticked.
Clearing the Cache
In most cases in order to have your new template show up on your browser you will have to clean your CS-Cart Cache. In order to do that follow the instruction below:
If for example your store url is my_domain.com and your admin area url is my_domain.com/admin.php make your title look like this: www.my_domain.com/admin.php?&cc and hit enter to load that page in order to clean up your cache.
a. Due to the fact that our templates use hooks, you will have to check the "My Changes" addon found on Administration ► Addons. Make sure that the addon is activated.
b. Banners are not automatically created once you install your template. You will have to navigate to Website ►Banners and make sure that you create these banners in order to show up on your store.
